Description

A unique and delicious glaze made with velvet marrow and persimmons that pairs beautifully with various dishes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 velvet marrow
  • 2 ripe persimmons
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the velvet marrow in half and scoop out the seeds.
  3. Place on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until tender.
  5. In a blender, combine the baked marrow, persimmons, honey, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  6. Serve the glaze warm over your choice of protein or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a sweeter glaze, add more honey.
  • This glaze works well with roasted meats or as a topping for grilled vegetables.
