Description

A rich and creamy French onion pasta topped with perfectly cooked steak.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces pasta of choice
  • 2 cups onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 pound steak, seasoned and cooked to preference
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat, then add the onions and cook until caramelized.
  3. Stir in the beef broth and thyme, simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the heavy cream and stir until well combined.
  5. Mix in the cooked pasta and half of the Gruyère cheese.
  6. Serve pasta topped with sliced steak and remaining cheese.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add more cheese on top and broil until bubbly.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
