Description

Delicious Turkish Pide, often referred to as Turkish flatbread, is a staple in Turkish cuisine, known for its unique boat shape and flavorful fillings.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast together.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, mixing to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. In a skillet, cook the ground meat with onions until browned.
  6. Add tomatoes and spices, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  8. Roll out the dough and shape it into a boat-like form.
  9. Fill the dough with the meat mixture and fold the edges over.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Garnish with parsley before serving.
