Description

Deliciously smoked Traeger Pork Butt that melts in your mouth and is perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or as a main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 pork butt (also known as pork shoulder)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup apple juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Traeger grill to 250°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the spices to create a rub.
  3. Rub the olive oil on the pork butt and then apply the spice mixture evenly.
  4. Place the pork butt directly on the grill grates and close the lid.
  5. Smoke for approximately 4-6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.
  6. Wrap the pork butt in butcher paper or aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Make sure to let the pork butt rest to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • You can serve the pulled pork with a variety of sauces and sides.
