Description

A delicious combination of tallow-fried plantains and perfectly cooked steak, offering a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe plantains
  • 1 pound steak (your choice of cut)
  • 1 cup beef tallow
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into thick pieces.
  2. Heat the beef tallow in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the plantain slices in the hot tallow until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Season the steak with salt and black pepper.
  5. In the same skillet, add the steak and cook to your desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  6. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve the sliced steak alongside the fried plantains.

Notes

  • Ensure the plantains are ripe for sweetness in contrast to the savory steak.
  • Adjust cooking time based on steak thickness.
