Description

A delicious combination of tallow-fried plantains and perfectly cooked steak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe plantains
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 cup beef tallow
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the plantains diagonally into thick pieces.
  2. Heat the beef tallow in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry the plantains in the hot tallow until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.
  4. Remove the plantains and drain on paper towels.
  5. Season the flank steak with garlic, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
  6. Cook the steak in the same pan for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  7. Let the steak rest before slicing and serve with fried plantains.

Notes

  • Adjust the ripeness of the plantains for desired sweetness.
  • Use a cast iron skillet for best results.
  • Marinate the steak for a few hours for enhanced flavor.
