Ingredients

- 2 ripe plantains
- 1 lb flank steak
- 1 cup beef tallow
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lime, juiced
Instructions
- Peel and slice the plantains diagonally into thick pieces.
- Heat the beef tallow in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the plantains in the hot tallow until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.
- Remove the plantains and drain on paper towels.
- Season the flank steak with garlic, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
- Cook the steak in the same pan for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Let the steak rest before slicing and serve with fried plantains.
Notes
- Adjust the ripeness of the plantains for desired sweetness.
- Use a cast iron skillet for best results.
- Marinate the steak for a few hours for enhanced flavor.
