Ingredients

- 2 ripe plantains
- 1 pound steak of choice
- 2 tablespoons tallow
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon (for garnish)
Instructions
- Peel and slice the plantains into diagonal pieces.
- Heat the tallow in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the plantain slices to the hot tallow and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per side.
- Remove plantains and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
- Season the steak with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Cook steak in the same skillet to desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Let steak rest for a few minutes, then slice.
- Serve the steak alongside the fried plantains with lemon wedges.
