Description

A flavorful and aromatic dish featuring chicken cooked with soy sauce, sesame oil, and basil.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 chili pepper, sliced (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, rice wine, and add the sugar. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the basil leaves and chili pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with rice.
