- 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sesame oil
- 1/4 cup rice wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 chili pepper, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- In a pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the soy sauce, rice wine, and add the sugar. Stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the basil leaves and chili pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice.

- Adjust the level of soy sauce and sugar to taste.
- Serve with steamed rice and pickled vegetables for a complete meal.
