Description

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef neck
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
  2. Add beef neck to the marinade and let it sit for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for best results.
  3. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  4. Place the marinated beef neck in a roasting pan and cover tightly with foil.
  5. Cook in the oven for about 3 hours until the meat is tender.
  6. Remove from oven, and take the beef out and let it rest.
  7. Prepare the sauce by boiling the marinade in a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the boiling marinade, stirring until thickened.
  8. Slice the beef neck and serve drizzled with the sauce.

  • For added flavor, consider adding chili flakes to the marinade.
