A deliciously smoked whole chicken with a savory and smoky flavor that is perfect for your next barbecue or family gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and lemon juice.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  4. Place the chicken in the smoker and cook for about 4 to 5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For best results, brine the chicken overnight before smoking.
  • Experiment with different wood chips for varying flavors.
