Description

A delicious, flavorful smoked picnic shoulder perfect for any barbecue.


Ingredients

  • 1 picnic shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder


Instructions

  1. Prepare the picnic shoulder by trimming excess fat.
  2. Mix the spices together in a small bowl.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the picnic shoulder.
  4. Let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
  5. Prepare the smoker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Smoke the shoulder at 225°F for about 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.
  7. Remove from the smoker and let rest for 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the shoulder overnight.
