Description

A savory and rich dish featuring tender smoked duck legs glazed in a decadent butter reduction.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 duck legs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. Season the duck legs with salt and place them in the smoker.
  3. Smoke the duck legs for about 2 hours or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic and thyme.
  5. Simmer for 5 minutes, then add the apple cider vinegar and mix well.
  6. Once the duck legs are smoked, remove them from the smoker and coat them with the butter reduction.
  7. Serve warm with additional sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding other herbs to the butter reduction, such as rosemary or oregano.
  • Ensure the duck legs are well rendered for a crispy skin.
