Description

Delicious smoked beef tongue skewers, thinly sliced and perfectly charred for a smoky flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef tongue
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Soak the beef tongue in cold water overnight with salt.
  2. Rinse and place tongue in a pot of simmering water for 2-3 hours until tender.
  3. Allow to cool and thinly slice the tongue.
  4. In a bowl, mix black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  5. Toss the sliced tongue in the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  7. Thread the slices onto skewers and grill for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until charred.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Beef tongue can be tough if not cooked long enough; ensure it is tender before slicing.
  • Marinate the tongue for more intense flavor.
  • These skewers are great with a side of grilled vegetables.
