Description

This Smoked Beef Barbacoa is packed with flavor from a delicious black rub and is perfect for tacos, burritos, or as a main dish.


Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together all the spices to create the black rub.
  2. Rub the spice mix generously over the beef chuck roast.
  3. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  4. Place the beef in the smoker and cook for about 6-8 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 190°F.
  5. Remove from smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes before shredding.
  6. Mix shredded beef with beef broth and lime juice before serving.
