Delicious smoked BBQ beans perfect for any barbecue or picnic.
Ingredients

- 2 cups navy beans, dried
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions
- Soak the beans overnight in water.
- Drain and rinse the beans, then place them in a pot with fresh water.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for about 1 hour until tender.
- Preheat the smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- In a large bowl, combine cooked beans, BBQ sauce, onions, garlic, brown sugar, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and chili powder.
- Transfer the mixture to a disposable aluminum pan.
- Smoke the beans for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Add bacon for extra flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of brown sugar.
