- 2 pounds pork jowl
- 1/4 cup white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons sake
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 heads of bok choy
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 green onion, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix miso paste, sake, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce.
- Coat the pork jowl with the miso mixture and marinate for at least an hour.
- Place the pork jowl on a baking sheet and roast for 30-40 minutes until caramelized.
- While the pork is roasting, heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté bok choy until tender.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the bok choy and sprinkle with green onion.
- Slice the pork jowl and serve with sautéed bok choy.

- For added flavor, let the pork marinate overnight.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice.
