Description

Traditional Portuguese stew made with slow-cooked lamb or goat in a rich, flavorful broth.


Ingredients

  • 2 kg goat meat
  • 500 ml red wine
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 liter water


Instructions

  1. Marinate the goat meat with red wine, garlic, onion, bay leaves, paprika, salt, and pepper for at least 12 hours.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the marinated meat with the marinade and brown for about 10 minutes.
  4. Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for approximately 2 to 3 hours until the meat is tender.
  6. Serve hot with crusty bread.
