Description

A rich and nutritious broth featuring liver for an added depth of flavor and health benefits.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef liver
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 carrots, diced
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, carrots, and celery; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add water, liver, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove liver, chop into bite-sized pieces, and stir back into the broth.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the flavors.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, roast the liver before adding it to the broth.
