Description

Lahmacun is a traditional Turkish pizza topped with minced meat, vegetables, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 bunch parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pita breads or flatbreads


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned; drain the fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, bell pepper, and cook until soft.
  4. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for about 10 minutes, then mix in parsley.
  6. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the flatbreads.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
