- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 pound sausages
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausages until browned and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to make a roux.
- Gradually add the chicken stock, whisking until the sauce is thickened.
- In a pot, boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with cream, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Serve the sausages over mashed potatoes and drizzle with onion gravy.
Notes
- Feel free to use your favorite type of sausage for this recipe.
- For a creamier mash, add more heavy cream.
