Description

Delicious and juicy smash burgers that are crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 slices of cheese (American or Cheddar)
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1/2 cup pickles
  • 1/2 cup onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and roll them into balls.
  3. Place the balls onto the hot griddle and smash them down with a spatula, flattening them to about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms.
  6. Flip the burgers, add a slice of cheese on top, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Toast the burger buns on the griddle.
  8. Assemble the burgers with pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, try adding a dash of smoked paprika.
  • Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness; 160°F is ideal for ground beef.
  • Serve with your favorite sides, like fries or coleslaw.
