Delicious grilled elk steaks topped with a flavorful sardine and anchovy butter.
Ingredients

- 2 elk steaks
- 1 can sardines, drained
- 2 anchovy fillets
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mash together the sardines, anchovy fillets, butter, lemon juice, and parsley until well combined.
- Season the elk steaks with salt and pepper.
- Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until desired doneness.
- Remove from the grill and top each steak with a generous dollop of the sardine and anchovy butter.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Allow the steaks to rest for a few minutes before serving.
- This butter can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
