Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onions, and garlic over medium heat until browned.
- Add thyme, allspice, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and water. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add cold water gradually until dough forms. Roll out and cut into circles.
- Fill each circle with beef mixture, fold and seal edges.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake patties for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Make sure to seal the patties well to prevent leaking.
- These can be frozen before baking for an easy meal later.
