Description
Delicious and flaky Caribbean beef patties filled with seasoned ground beef.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add onion, garlic, bell pepper, and cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato paste, soy sauce, allspice, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes and let cool.
- In a bowl, mix flour and butter until crumbly. Stir in cold water to form a dough.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of beef mixture on one half of each circle and fold over, sealing edges.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add chopped chili peppers to the filling.
- These patties can be made ahead of time and frozen.
