Description

A hearty Dutch Oven Pot Roast recipe, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup potatoes, cubed
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the roast with salt and pepper.
  3. In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear the roast on all sides until browned.
  4. Remove the roast and set aside. Add onions and garlic to the pot and sauté until soft.
  5. Return the roast to the pot. Pour in the beef broth and add carrots, potatoes, thyme, and rosemary.
  6. Cover and transfer to the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest before slicing.
