Description

A savory and crispy pork shoulder recipe glazed with a rich mustard butter.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Place the pork in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  4. Bake for 4 hours or until tender.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter and mix with mustard, honey, vinegar, and thyme.
  6. After 4 hours, remove the foil and baste the pork with the mustard butter glaze.
  7. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and roast for an additional 30 minutes until crispy.
  8. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
