- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken gizzards and place them in a bowl with buttermilk. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Remove gizzards from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat them in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry gizzards in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add your favorite hot sauce to the buttermilk marinade.
- Serve with dipping sauces like ranch or hot sauce for added enjoyment.
