- 2 pounds beef roast
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix coffee, cocoa, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture over the beef roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan and bake for 90 minutes.
- Combine beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; pour over roast.
- Bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove the roast and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the drippings with cornstarch mixed in water to form gravy. Cook until thickened.
- Slice the roast and serve with cocoa gravy.
