Description

Learn how to make a perfect Cast Iron Skillet Steak that is juicy and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from the fridge and let them come to room temperature.
  2. Preheat the cast iron skillet over high heat.
  3. Season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
  4. Add olive oil to the skillet.
  5. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
  6. Flip the steaks and add garlic, rosemary, and butter to the skillet.
  7. Baste the steaks with the melted butter and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until desired doneness.
  8. Remove from skillet and let steaks rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a better crust, ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the steaks.
  • Letting the steaks rest allows the juices to redistribute.
