- 2 ribeye steaks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Remove steaks from the fridge and let them come to room temperature.
- Preheat the cast iron skillet over high heat.
- Season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Add olive oil to the skillet.
- Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Flip the steaks and add garlic, rosemary, and butter to the skillet.
- Baste the steaks with the melted butter and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until desired doneness.
- Remove from skillet and let steaks rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a better crust, ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the steaks.
- Letting the steaks rest allows the juices to redistribute.
