Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Scotch bonnet pepper, chopped (use less for milder sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, and vegetable oil.
  2. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.
  3. Let the sauce sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Use the sauce to marinate meats or brush on during grilling.
  5. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes
