Description

A succulent and flavorful Butter-Roasted Prime Rib with a delicious cracked pepper crust, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 prime rib roast
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, salt, thyme, rosemary, and cracked pepper until combined.
  3. Rub the butter mixture all over the prime rib roast.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
  7. Let the roast rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
