- 1 prime rib roast
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, salt, thyme, rosemary, and cracked pepper until combined.
- Rub the butter mixture all over the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- Let the roast rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
