- 2 pounds prime rib roast
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 sprigs of rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Season the prime rib with sea salt and black pepper on all sides.
- Place the roast in a pan and cook in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue cooking for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches desired doneness.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic and rosemary.
- Baste the prime rib with the butter mixture every 15 minutes.
- Once done, let the roast rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Allow the meat to come to room temperature before cooking for even results.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
