Description

Enjoy a succulent Butter-Basted Prime Rib for Two, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection for a special occasion or romantic dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds prime rib roast
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 sprigs of rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Season the prime rib with sea salt and black pepper on all sides.
  3. Place the roast in a pan and cook in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  4. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue cooking for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches desired doneness.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic and rosemary.
  6. Baste the prime rib with the butter mixture every 15 minutes.
  7. Once done, let the roast rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Allow the meat to come to room temperature before cooking for even results.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
