Deliciously braised oxtail served with rich beef bone broth gelatin cubes for a comforting and flavorful dish.

- 2 pounds oxtail
- 4 cups beef bone broth
- 1 cup diced onions
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a large Dutch oven, brown the oxtail pieces on all sides over medium-high heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, carrots, and celery, and cook until softened.
- Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the beef bone broth and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and transfer to the oven, braising for 3-4 hours until the oxtail is tender.
- Remove the oxtail from the pot and let it cool slightly before separating the meat from the bones.
- Strain the broth and let it cool. Once cooled, it will form a gelatin.
- Serve the oxtail with broth and gelatin cubes as desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine during cooking.
- Serving with your favorite crusty bread is recommended.
