Description

Deliciously braised oxtail served with rich beef bone broth gelatin cubes for a comforting and flavorful dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds oxtail
  • 4 cups beef bone broth
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, brown the oxtail pieces on all sides over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the onions, garlic, carrots, and celery, and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour in the beef bone broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Cover and transfer to the oven, braising for 3-4 hours until the oxtail is tender.
  7. Remove the oxtail from the pot and let it cool slightly before separating the meat from the bones.
  8. Strain the broth and let it cool. Once cooled, it will form a gelatin.
  9. Serve the oxtail with broth and gelatin cubes as desired.
