A savory dish featuring tender liver marinated in bourbon, served with sautéed onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound liver (beef or chicken)
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the liver in bourbon for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and add the onions. Sauté until they are golden brown.
  3. Remove the onions and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter.
  4. Remove the liver from the bourbon, season with salt and pepper, and cook in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Return the onions to the skillet and combine with the liver. Cook for an additional minute.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh liver.
