Description

A delicious dish featuring tender liver and caramelized onions soaked in bourbon for enhanced flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef liver
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup flour


Instructions

  1. Soak the liver in bourbon for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and sauté until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove onions from skillet and set aside.
  5. Coat the liver slices in flour, then place in the skillet.
  6. Cook the liver for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned but still tender.
  7. Return the onions to the skillet, mix with the liver, and cook for an additional minute.
  8. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
