Description

A flavorful and hearty pozole made with beef heart, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 beef heart
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 2 cans hominy
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jalapeños, diced
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • salt to taste
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges
  • 2 radishes, thinly sliced


Instructions

  1. Clean and trim the beef heart, cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large pot, combine the beef heart and beef broth. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, and jalapeños to the pot.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beef heart is tender.
  5. Stir in the hominy, oregano, cumin, and salt. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with lime wedges and sliced radishes.

  • Make sure to clean the beef heart thoroughly.
  • You can adjust the spiciness by adding more or fewer jalapeños.
