Description

This Basil-Infused Lard & Tomato Veal is a rich and flavorful dish that combines tender veal with aromatic basil-infused lard.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds veal shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup basil-infused lard
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the basil-infused lard over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and garlic, sautéing until softened.
  3. Add the veal cubes and brown on all sides.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the veal is tender.
  6. Remove bay leaves before serving.
