Description

A rich and flavorful dish bringing together the essence of basil with succulent veal and ripe tomatoes.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups basil-infused lard
  • 2 pounds veal, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


Instructions

  1. Heat the basil-infused lard in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the veal chunks and sear until browned on all sides.
  3. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and minced garlic, cooking until tomatoes soften.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with a garnish of fresh basil.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, allow the lard to infuse for longer prior to use.
