Description

A delicious and rich dish combining the flavors of basil, lard, and veal, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups basil-infused lard
  • 2 pounds veal, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat the basil-infused lard in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the veal chunks and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Stir in the garlic, salt, and pepper, and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, stirring to combine.
  5. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes, until veal is tender.
  6. Finish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, let the veal marinate in lard overnight.
  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
